There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Maida is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Pakistan and is a fan of WonHo. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? I am Maida, a 21 year old WENEE from Pakistan. How and when did you enter the fandom? I entered the fandom in 2017. I came across a video of WonHo interacting with his fans. It really made me feel warm considering how gentle & loving he was towards the fan. What are the reasons why you love your favorite artist? I love him because he’s really kind & always optimistic no matter how hard the situation is he is always strong plus the huge huge amount of love he has for us. Which song by them caught your attention at first and why? ‘From Zero’ that strong is really beautiful & full of meaningful lyrics. Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans? I would recommend “This Ain’t About You” WonHo feat Kiara. Can you recommend a fancam, V-Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your favourite artist to our readers? You should check: WonHo- ‘I love you’ (Billie Eilish cover). Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? “I need a shoulder to lean on I need someone to hold ‘Cause every night I’m alone in the dark (I need somebody) I need somebody, somebody I’m all alone in the world full of strangers Blank faces staring, I’m patiently waiting” - ‘Somebody’ Are there any quotes by your favourite artist that you would like to share? “No matter what you do, where you are, I will be there for you.” What kind of influence has your favourite artist had on your daily life? He made me feel loved and most importantly he gave me hope that even if things are going wrong you just need to hold on & fight for your goal things will work for you one day. What type of concept do you prefer: cute, dark, sexy, etc? I prefer dark concepts. Can you describe your bias in only one word? Kind hearted. What’s your favourite 2022 moment involving your bias? When WonHo won best musician award it was really a beautiful moment & heart touching. What is a random fact that you think people don’t know about them? He’s really nice. People think he’s just his body but no. If you get to know him he’s more than that he’s worth loving If you could spend the day with them, what would you want to do together? I would love to go amusement park with him. Name 1 quality in your bias that you wish you had. Patience. if your bias were to collab with another idol, who do you think would be best? Maybe Kang Daniel or YoSeop. Can you share with readers the first ever picture you’ve saved of your bias on your phone?
What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying? Well best thing I get to witness the feeling of being loved also I get to relax, being free from all worries. Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite artist from other fans (non-fans)? The rumor that WonHo’s muscles are not real he took steroids that’s not true at all as his fan I have seen him working really hard for body for years, his diet plans you can find videos on his YouTube channel. Please don’t discredit his work he worked so hard for his body & health. You can also add a message/letter to your favourite artist or show it on a message scrapbook. WonHo I just want you to know that I am really proud of you! You have came so far thank you so much for staying strong 💙 You have changed my life a lot, your words gave me strength to stay strong I just want you to be happy, care free & healthy!
